Accept Crypto Payments with WooCommerce Payment Gateway

A Cryptonly account and an API key are enough. Install the plugin, enable it at checkout, and your WooCommerce store can take crypto payments. The steps below are the whole setup.

How to start accepting crypto payments on WooCommerce

  1. Sign up for a Cryptonly account

Create a merchant account in the Cryptonly dashboard. That account issues the API key, account id, and webhook signing key used in the steps below.

  2. Generate an API key

Create a key under Settings → Security → API keys with invoices.create, invoices.list, invoices.cancel, and currencies.list. Copy the account id from Accounts, and the webhook signing key from Settings → Security.

  3. Install the WooCommerce plugin

In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New, search for Cryptonly, then install and activate it. The payment method shows up under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments. The settings reference is in the WooCommerce integration guide.

  4. Enable the payment method

Open WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → Cryptonly. Turn the method on and enter the API key, account id, and webhook signing key. The plugin checks that your store currency is supported. It sends the webhook URL with each invoice, so you do not add one in the Cryptonly dashboard.

  5. Accept checkout payments

At checkout the customer chooses Cryptonly. The plugin creates the invoice on your server and redirects them to the hosted page. A signed invoice.statusChanged webhook moves a paid order to Completed. The same flow works on classic checkout and WooCommerce Blocks.

What is WooCommerce

WooCommerce is a WordPress plugin that turns a site into a store. Products, checkout, and orders live in the WordPress admin.

A payment method is a gateway. You install it, enable it under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments, and customers see it when they place an order.

Cryptonly uses that gateway hook. Product prices stay in your store currency. The customer pays on a Cryptonly page, and a signed webhook updates the WooCommerce order when the payment confirms.

WooCommerce FAQ

  • Which WooCommerce versions does the plugin support?

WooCommerce 7.1 or newer, on WordPress 6.0 or newer and PHP 7.4 or newer. The plugin is tested through WooCommerce 10.9 and WordPress 7.1, including HPOS order storage.

  • Do I need to build a crypto checkout page?

No. The customer pays on a Cryptonly hosted page and returns to your store. The plugin works with classic checkout and WooCommerce Blocks.

  • What does it cost?

0.5% per payment, with no setup fee.

  • Can I test the plugin before taking real payments?

Yes. Sandbox mode runs the hosted page and the webhook without moving funds. Turn sandbox off and switch to production credentials when you are ready to accept live payments.

  • Do product prices have to be in crypto?

No. Keep the catalog in your store currency. Cryptonly converts the amount when the customer checks out.

  • How does WooCommerce know an order is paid?

Cryptonly sends a signed invoice.statusChanged webhook to ?wc-api=WC_Gateway_Cryptonly. Paid and overpaid move the order to Completed. A partial payment leaves the order on hold.
